What’s this Tom Nook from “Animal Crossing” Meme?

Tom Nook is a character in the Animal Crossing video game series. He’s a racoon (known as a tanuki in Japan and Korea) with an entrepreneurial and hustler flair.

Before Animal Crossing: New Leaf, he was in charge of the local store. He runs Nook’s Homes in it, where the player can create their home, and he works at Resident Services in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, where he makes daily announcements prior to the building’s renovation. Tom Nook buys the player a house at the start of each game in the series, then gives them a mortgage to pay off. After each loan is paid off, Tom Nook then offers expansions.
